ABOUT DELACRUZ GOLF

Dick DeLaCruz
Widely recognized as a talented equipment designer and business executive, has an esteemed history in the golf industry. As founder and owner of Dick De La Cruz Company, from 1976-85 he designed and manufactured automated machinery for the golf industry, including advanced measuring devices and methods, some of which are still in use today.

As vice president of Callaway Golf from 1985-88, in addition to his design responsibility, De La Cruz oversaw daily operations of the company. His accomplishments while at Callaway Golf included design, tooling and production of a series of successful clubs and shafts.

From 1988-95, De La Cruz was a freelance golf club designer. Among his clients were Cobra Golf, Founders Golf, Kenneth Smith, Callaway Golf, Spalding and Yamaha. These consulting efforts produced designs that proved popular in the marketplace.

De La Cruz was named CEO and vice chairman of Golfwin Golf-USA, a successful start-up company with distribution throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe. While with Goldwin, De La Cruz spearheaded groundbreaking equipment designs and systems.

As director of new products development for Orlimar Golf from 2000-2002, De La Cruz served as chief designer, bringing to fruition a series of clubs that became the core of the Orlimar product line. He then decided to co-found DeLaCruz Golf, LLC, where he served as president and CEO. With a focus on club design and manufacturing techniques, during this time De La Cruz introduced a number of equipment innovations.

Today De La Cruz is lead designer for DGD Golf, where he continues to implement the expertise he has mastered over the years and which has earned him the reputation he enjoys.

Richard D. DeLaCruz

Growing up in southern California, Richard DeLaCruz was destined to get involved one day in the family business. Richard started his golf career at Goldwin Golf in Carlsbad and learning the ropes from beginning to end was the best way to understand the golf business. Richard was Manager of Manufacturing and Warehousing for Goldwin, a title which required many responsibilities, from golf club assembly, product flow, local and international shipping and distribution to quality control. After leaving Goldwin Golf for other challenges, Richard took aim at the mortgage banking industry. Starting again at the bottom and learning all the ropes are what led to a successful 13-year career in this field. He worked in San Diego as part of a team that was ranked number four in the country for volume of all lenders. Richard DeLaCruz was at the top of one of the most successful teams in the country, with his ranking amongst the team as number one in sales, volume and units. All of this dedication and desire to be the best led Richard to his real dream of one day working side by side with his world-renowned father, Dick DeLaCruz, a legend in golf club design. After many discussions, the two decided to work together to impact modern golf club design and production, specifically in the realm of putters. Thus DeLaCruz Golf Designs was born. Under the leadership of Richard DeLaCruz, and the research and development of Dick DeLaCruz, the Sweet Slot putter was created. Richard DeLaCruz is taking a hands-on approach in making sure that this new technology will be around for years to come.
